DIVE GALAPAGOS

2027 Galapagos Group Trip

Get ready for an adventure!

The Galápagos Islands and the surrounding waters represent one of the world’s most unusual ecosystems. There are many species in the Galapagos which you cannot find elsewhere. Galápagos Marine Reserve is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest marine reserve in a developing country and the second largest reserve in the world. In 2016 Ecuador created a marine sanctuary around Wolf and Darwin that includes 15,000 square miles which is now off limit to fishing.

Galapagos is an amazing dive destination! Every dive is like an episode of National Geographic! In the Galapagos you can see whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, eagle rays, mantas, orca, mola mola, dolphins, sea lions, marine iguanas and more.

In the Galapagos you can see whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, eagle rays, mantas, orca, mola mola, dolphins, sea lions, marine iguanas and more. The water temperature in October will range from 60-75F depending on the dive site and air temperatures will be in the low 70’s. We will also have the opportunity to do 2 land tours during the week.

October is whale shark season so there is a higher chance of seeing them. It is also the beginning of breeding season for the sea lions so they are very active! This is also a good time to see seabirds due to it being nesting time.

Our trip will be aboard the Galapagos Aggressor who has been operating in the Galapagos since 1993. The yacht accommodates 16 guests in 4 Master cabins on the upper deck and 4 Deluxe cabins on the lower deck. All cabins have 2 single side by side beds but in the Master cabins the beds can be made into a queen bed in addition to the beds in 2 of the Deluxe cabins.

PADI Master Instructor, Course Director

Instructor since 2001

Robert became certified as an Open Water diver in 1999 at Scubaland Adventures when the one and only Scubaland store was located on North Lamar, next to Desperado’s night club for anyone that can remember that far back. Robert fell in love with SCUBA diving and soon became a PADI Instructor.

Bubbles are a funny thing. When the hi‐tech bubble burst it ended one career for Robert but started a far more rewarding one. In 2003 Robert began his career as a dive store owner by opening Scubaland’s south store on William Cannon.

In 2007 Rob drank the cool‐aid and became a PADI Course Director and the President of Scubaland Adventures. He now focuses most of his attention on running one of the largest and most successful SCUBA franchises in Texas, as well as developing new PADI professionals, Underwater Photography and traveling.

In January of 2020 Rob became the sole owner of Scubaland Adventures and The Swim School of Austin.
