Travel Information

Last Updated January 26, 2022

It's recommended to get the latest travel information when you book and before your trip.

When traveling it's best to check with the airline, your hotel/operator and the country you are traveling to for entry requirements since they may all be slightly different. Some hotels/operators/liveaboards have their own requirements. It's recommended to check multiple reliable sites for entry requirements.

The timing of your covid test is extremely important. Make sure you know whether the country/airline/operator is asking for the time when you board your first flight, the time you board your last flight into the country or the time you arrive into the country. If your test is an hour off, you may not be allow to board your flight.

Don’t Be Surprised That:
• Your luggage will be disinfected one or more times. Most likely this will be done using a diluted bleach solution. Choose your luggage accordingly and be prepared for it to happen behind the scenes and not always in your presence.
• You may undergo multiple temperature checks and be asked to complete symptom check-list affidavits where you affirm you are symptom free for the past 14 days. This will likely be at airports, immigration stations, and hotel check-ins.
• Reduced occupancy loads in taxis and busses may mean longer waits.

Travel Tips:
• Stay cool and hydrated.
• Wash your hands frequently.
• Wear your mask.
• Practice good social distancing.

Pack Your Preferred PPE:
• One or more cloth masks.
• Buff or gator which works well as a mask and can be worn around your neck when dining
• Hand sanitizer (enough for the entire trip)
• A non-porous container to store your mask and snorkel in
• Disposable gloves (if you desire)
• Mouthpiece for regulator if you do not have your own

New CDC Guidelines for Returning to the US

The CDC has issued new guidelines this week for passengers returning to the US. Beginning on January 26, 2021, anyone (age 2 and up) returning to the United States from another country will have to show proof of a negative test (NAAT or antigen test) before boarding their flight. The test must be taken within 3 days of departure and you will need to show documentation (written or electronic) to the airline. Anyone who previously had COVID can show official proof that they have recovered, which is a positive COVID test result from the last 3 months and a letter from a health care provider that states they are cleared for travel. If you decline to take a test, or do not have proof of results, you will not be allowed to board.
If you have a positive result, or even a negative result but still have COVID symptoms, you will not be allowed to board. Even if you have had the vaccine, you will still need a negative COVID test.

Many resorts that Travel Masters works with already have plans to have testing available on site. These will be available at an extra cost (most resorts are only charging their cost for the test). If you have any questions about the testing requirements please speak to us today!
